Do you think it will have a positive impact on maybe finding a back-up doc for HBACs? I know it's too early to probably tell. Generally speaking, just b/c ACOG changes a policy doesn't mean docs and hospitals change their philosophies and priorities (time and money). But, one could be hopeful, right? |

This is certainly a step in the right direction. One thing that makes it difficult to get doctor support for HBAC is that they are scared of VBAC in general, if it isn't safe in hospital then of course it's not a safe option at home..right? WRONG!! Getting rid of the fear that surrounds VBAC in general will have an effect on HBAC back up options. Here and now not sure what effect this will have....other than to bring the latest research and this statement to your doctor and talk in detail with him about the safety of not only VBAC but HBAC as well. We have to start speaking up!
