Hey there,

I just wanted to let you know that our beautiful daughter Greta Marit was born - 5 weeks early - last Sunday (7/4) at the Woman's Hospital.
She was 5 lb 9.4 oz and 18 in long.

Jackie came with us :) and although it was quiet long until she was born (30 hours after the water broke) it was a wonderful TUB (!!) birth at the end :).

She is doing great and we came home on Wednesday.

So, you were actually able to BIRTH in the tub at Women's? Was this planned ahead of time, or did it just kind of "happen?" (I am asking b/c I have heard that you are only allowed to labor in the tub and are asked to get out for the actual birth.) With it being on the 4th (a holiday), was Dr. Dickerson able to be there for some/most/all of the labor and delivery? I can't wait to hear/read the birth story.

Well, Dr Dickerson did not make it back in time :-P.
He was out of town on the third, but came in - I don't know if he had planned to come back anyway, but before that he had told me he would come in even if he is not on call.
He was there Sunday morning.
Since it took so long he went home to get some food - and when he got the call he came straight back but did not make it in time :-P.

It was not really planned to deliver in the tub, but once it was about time and the nurse wanted to send me back to bed (I think one even told me to lay down on the floor ?!?), I told them I HAD TO go back to the tub and just went :-P - hubby said Jackie helped with that. I was in the tub the two hours before that and just took a bathroom break.

She is very sleepy - we have to wake her for every feeding and it's hard work to keep her awake :-P.
BUT it's getting better I think :). She is more awake. nursing goes easier and she even woke up twice and demanded food :). Big step for us ;).
