The only one I know is Dr. Steven Liverman in Wesson, Mississippi, and that's because he is my uncle. Hope you find someone!

I saw an acupuncturist two years ago at Louisiana Spine & Sports Medicine on Bluebonnet. I would recommend her but cannot remember her name at the moment. I'll update if I think of it later. This acupuncturist was highly recommended to me by someone who'd seen her for back pain.
I also saw Ken Chow about 1-1/2 years ago. He's now listed on Colonial Drive, off Goodwood Blvd. He was featured in a WAFB HealthLine segment a few years ago that can be seen on YouTube @ http://www.youtube.co... I was satisfied with my experiences with both of these acupuncturists. |

Thanks guys! I've got a very stubborn breech baby at 37-38 weeks. We need to get him to turn. I've already tried webster(5 times), spinningbabies, and a version. None were successful at turning him. This is my last ditch effort to avoid a c-section. If anyone knows of anything else we could try, please let me know. Thanks!

You could find a Doctor who delivers breeches. Call Dr. Dickerson's office.Or Dr. Lapyrole in N.O. delivers breeches, too. Why schedule major surgery that carries a lifetime of possible complications if you can have a normal birth with a skilled care provider? It's your decision, and I respect that. I believe your current care provider should do everything in their power to find you the resources available so you can have the birthing experience you desire. If that means referring you out, then so be it.

I would second having a provider who is skilled in delivering breech....however not sure they will take you on this late in the game :(

While I appreciate your concern, Dr. Dickerson is my OB. He is awesome, and told us that he will do the breech vaginal delivery if that's what we decide. He has openly discussed all the risks associated with both options (vaginal breech or section). At this point, without going into the details of our particular situation, there is definitely more risk to me with a section but significantly less risk for our baby. I believe that our dr has done everything within his power to help us get the birth that we desire (he recommended getting acupuncture). We are continuing to explore all of our options, but at this point in time, they are becoming fewer and fewer.

that is great that he is giving you the information so that you can make an informed decision, taking into account what is best for you and your baby.
I hope you will be able to turn the baby and have the vaginal birth you want. sending some prayers your way. |

Okay, Dickerson IS your OB, cool.
Ask does he do versions? Some providers will attempt this procedure and have had great success. ALSO, IDK if you've gone this route yet, Cathy Calliouett(sp) at Get off my Nerves Chiropractor is great and can be very helpful in positioning babies. I am only aware of ONE instance where a breech birth is dangerous for the baby and that is if his genitals are presenting first, this can cause permanent damage and Ina May Gaskin recommends C Section for this type of breech. Have you read Ina Mae? There was a beautiful footling breech photo series posted somewhere on this forum attended my midwives in London. We need to remember that birth is safe. If your baby and your body have "decided" this is the way he will come out, then that is the way it is and he will just come out like that. Babies WANT to be born, he will come out just fine, and we have to trust that normal physiological process needs little to NO intervention. I am thankful you are good hands with Dr. Dickerson. Why not go into labour and allow nature to take it's course? You will KNOW then, what's okay for your body to do. |
