I wanted to meet some like-minded moms.
My son, Micah, was born in a hospital with pitocin, epidural, efm, etc. It was horrible. I hated every minute of it, but I felt like I had no other alternative. My daughter, Elizabeth was born at home, unassisted. The difference was night and day.

"Also, there seem to be some good discussions going on over here: http://mothering.com/... You might need to become a member to see them. It's free to join, though."
"Amy, I didn't mean to imply that we couldn't. I'm just better at face-to-face. I'm terrible at message boards. I was only hoping to meet through pm b/c she is so close to where I live. Edited to change pms to pm."
"She is sooo beautiful!!! Congratulations!!!"
"That's actually kind of funny! There is a smell I notice about myself when I'm pregnant, but it comes later on. I wonder if that is common?"
"Gentian Violet has worked well for us; I used it to swab baby's mouth. I've never had it transfer to my breast. Feeding baby plain yogurt also helped. I also smeared some on her bottom when she got it down there...."
