Hi! I am Amy, stay at home mom to Ryan and Charlotte. I am an attachment parenting, breastfeeding, noncircumcising, cosleeping advocate. I am also a writer, cyclist, artist (birth art is my passion) and have a Master's in English.
I had two hospital births without anesthesia. The first was almost like a homebirth with minimal intervention, the second was a high risk induction at 37 weeks due to low amniotic fluid. They were both amazing experiences and taught me so much!

"Absolutely, and I feel like this is something that doesn't get discussed enough. After my first baby was born, I was literally in mourning for not being pregnant again...."
"This is awesome! Thanks for posting. Legislature like this does a lot to help women prepare for their own births and think things through."
"the only difference is the people who used to post more radical things have decided, of their own accord, to become inactive. I see the same people here in this discussion who have always posted radical things...."
"I also agree with how frustrating it is to follow a woman through pregnancy, supporting her decisions and encouraging her to have the birth she desires only to hear her story after the birth and have it not turn out the way she hoped...."
"I wanted to add that Amy S. has risen to the occasion of leading the group. Amy, it has been awesome to watch you grow into your role as a leader, especially since I know you have two small kids and a busy home life...."
"Yay!!! Faith moves mountains...And, apparently, placentas!"
"I'll be praying for you and your sweet baby. I've been praying for you, your family and all your angels these months. Will keep that up, too!"
"What are your thoughts on the groups growth? It's amazing how this group has grown, and in order for it to grow, I think it did need to become more "mainstream."..."
"Hang in there. It might take some time. Teaching a "comfort measures for labor" class might help, maybe getting your childbirth educator certification, too? (I know, more certifications...ugh!). Maybe a blog?..."
