I just had my first baby, a natural hospital birth. I had a great experience and am loving being a mommy! I definitely plan to have my next baby (not any time soon :) ! ) at home with Emmy.
I support women's right to have choices concerning their births. I am interested in meeting those who have exercised this right. I will be having a homebirth the next go round!

"what a wonderful valentine"
"Trust your intuition, body and your milk! Consider the growth charts are being redone for breast fed babies. Maybe reconsider your pediatrician?..."
"I posted about our birth experience in the thread I started when Leo was born--but I wanted to add here that Ingrid was present for labor and birth and it was an amazing experience...."
"Sorry Jackie, I just saw this. So, to answer your questions: we discussed this at length with the ped and read a lot. It was below his tongue...."
"The time associated with nursing could be that he is relying more on suction than his tongue to get the milk. His suction is crazy strong. Thanks for referring me to the video...."
"Our pediatrician recommended that we have Leo's frenulum clipped. He said we don't have to, but thinks it might help nurse and provide some benefits when he's older. ... MoreWe aren't having a real bfing problem--he latches nicely and is already at his birth weight, but it does take him a really LONG time to nurse. Have any of you had this done? I've done some reading and everything I've read is that it is a big deal if it's done later, but is simple in a newborn with little to no blood and apparently no pain (?) --i find that last part hard to believe, though. "YES!!!! I have lived this wonderful dream/nightmare. I don't have any solutions for you, all I can offer is some company...."
"I am sooooooo happy for you!!!! And what a beautiful name! I can't wait to hear your story. congratulations and big baby-on-the-outside hugs!!!!"
"I think strep B has been discussed on the mb before. you can probably find the old discussion. I declined testing and agreed to oral antibx treatment if symptomatic during labor/delivery...."
"Emily, You are still so heavy on my mind. I hope I can send some labor vibes your way tonight. And yes, he has long beautiful eyelashes! So sweet!"
